MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team finished in eighth place at the 12-team EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invite played at Marshall Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
SMSU, which carded a first-round score of 39-over-par 327, shot a final round total of 47-over 335 on Sunday, for a two-round score of 86-over 662.
Minnesota State captured the team title with a score of 31-over 607, with MSU's Emerson Garlie earning medalist honors with a 2-over 146.
Meghan Pundsack was SMSU's highest finisher placing tied for 22
nd in the 77-player field with a 15-over 159. Pundsack carded an 11-over 83 on Sunday with one birdie and 11 pars.
Isabella Jacobs shot the Mustangs' low-round on Sunday with a 10-over 82, finishing with one birdie and six pars, while closing the tournament in a tie for 36
th place at 20-over 164.
Carly Hamman tied for 46
th overall at 25-over 169, following a final round 15-over 87 with seven pars.
Berkley Steffen tied for 48
th with a score of 26-over 170 after carding an 11-over 83 in the final round with one birdie and six pars.
Allie Nedved rounded out SMSU's team play tying for 57
th at 31-over 175, while registering five pars in the final round on her way to a 16-over 88.
Roni Hook played as an individual on the weekend for SMSU and placed 67
th with a 36-over 180, following a 19-over 91 on Sunday with five pars.
SMSU will conclude the fall season on Oct. 13-14 at the University of Sioux Falls Invitational played at Grand Falls Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa.
