WEEKEND PREVIEW
The Southwest Minnesota State University softball team (21-13, 7-1 NSIC) will travel to Mankato, Minn., this week due to expected poor weather conditions in Marshall this weekend.
SMSU faces Minnesota State (20-12, 7-1 NSIC) on Thursday beginning at 12 p.m. and Winona State (29-4, 8-0 NSIC) on Friday beginning at 2 p.m.

RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND
The Mustangs made their home debut at Mustang Field over the weekend, and made a statement on the diamond, sweeping Bemidji State and Minnesota Duluth.
Freshman
Aliza Acker led SMSU hitting 6 of 13 on the weekend with four RBIs and four runs.
Riley Kramolisch added three more hits to her career total, as she looks to break the all-time hits record in SMSU softball history.
Freshman pitcher
Ramsey Hopp went 2-0 in her two starts, including a two-hit complete game shutout against UMD, adding three RBIs at the plate against Bemidji State.
Jordyn Marsh continued her strong season, pitching ten innings allowing just one run with three strikeouts. Marsh also hit her second home run of the season in game one against UMD.
Paris Van Dyke had a three-hit game against BSU, five total in the weekend, with three RBIs.
Second-baseman
Emma Humpal had five hits in the four games with two RBIs, while shortstop
Lexi Ingalls had four hits with three RBIs.

MUSTANGS BY THE NUMBERS
Jordyn Marsh (13-4) leads the Mustangs on the mound with a 1.33 ERA with 92 strikeouts and a batting average against of .227. The sophomore is also batting .318 with four doubles, two home runs, and 16 RBIs.
Senior
Riley Kramolisch is first on the team with 39 hits and second with a batting average of .342. Kramolisch also leads the team in runs with 21 and triples with two.
Freshman
Aliza Acker leads the Mustangs with a .345 batting average, 10 doubles, and three home runs. Acker is also second in hits with 38 and RBIs with 18.
Grace Anderson is hitting .303 with four doubles and a home run. Anderson fourth on the team with 14 RBIs.
Junior
Emma Humpal leads the Mustangs with 20 RBIs and is one of five players with double-digit walks. Both Humpal and Acker have three home runs each.
Junior outfielder
Paris Van Dyke after a strong weekend is now batting .294 on the year. Van Dyke is second in doubles with six, and fourth in hits with 25.
Freshman
Ramsey Hopp (8-8) has a 3.21 ERA in 98 innings, allowing 125 hits and 57 runs (45 earned), striking out 39 batters. In 49 at-bats, Hopp has a batting average of .388 and 12 RBIs.

HEAD COACH BAILEY BOUMAN
Bailey Bouman is in her seventh season as head coach at SMSU with an overall record of 162-187, including 82-98 in NSIC play.
The 11th head coach in program history, Bouman was named to the position on Aug. 8, 2018.
The Mustangs finished the 2025 campaign with a 29-26 record, the second winning record for Bouman as head coach, with a 11-17 NSIC record and a ninth-place finish in the conference.
SMSU finished with a 19-32 overall mark in 2024.
Abby Boxrud and
Paris Van Dyke became the first Mustangs to earn All-NSIC Defensive honors in the Bouman era.
The Mustangs finished the 2023 season 17-32 and missed the NSIC Tournament for the first time in three seasons.
SMSU finished 21-31 in 2022 and won its second NSIC Tournament game in consecutive seasons.
The Mustangs finished 27-20 in 2021, their best season since 2011, while winning their first NSIC tournament game since Bouman's first season in 2019.
SMSU finished 19-26 during her first season in 2019 and qualified for the NSIC Tournament.
Bouman was an assistant coach with the SMSU women's basketball program from 2015-17 and was also an assistant women's basketball coach at Dordt College (Iowa) before returning to SMSU.
Bouman is a 2014 graduate of the University of Sioux Falls where she played both basketball and softball for the Cougars.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE WARRIORS
The Mustangs will meet Winona State for the 135
th and 136
th time on Friday, with the Warriors holding an 89-45 lead in the series.
WSU has dominated the series as of late and is on the biggest winning streak in the series, 37 straight wins for the Warriors dating back to 2009.
Bailey Bouman has an 0-15 record against WSU as head coach at SMSU.

SMSU faces Minnesota State for the 108

th time on Saturday, MSU holds an 82-25 advantage all time against the Mustangs.
The Mustangs recorded the first win against MSU since 2018 back in February, snapping a 16-game losing streak against the Mavericks.
Coach Bouman holds a 1-17 record against Minnesota State.
