WEEKEND PREVIEW
The Southwest Minnesota State University softball team (24-20, 10-8 NSIC) look to bounce back this week with a pair of NSIC doubleheaders.
SMSU is scheduled to travel to Sioux Falls on Thursday, facing the Augustana Vikings (18-21, 11-7 NSIC) beginning at 4 p.m. at Bowden Field.
The Mustangs then play host to Wayne State (31-11, 11-7 NSIC) on Sunday at Mustang Field beginning at 12 p.m.

RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND
The Mustangs split a doubleheader with Sioux Falls on Wednesday, dropping game one 22-1 before winning game two 2-1.
Aliza Acker had three hits combined in the two games, while
Emma Humpal and
Jordyn Marsh brought home the winning runs in game two.
SMSU then recorded a split against Concordia-St. Paul on Friday, losing game one 9-3 before bouncing back in game two 7-2.
Lexi Ingalls had three RBIs in the two games, while
Grace Anderson had three hits and two RBIs.
The Mustangs however fell to the St. Cloud State Huskies in both games on Saturday, 10-2 and 1-0.

MUSTANGS BY THE NUMBERS
Jordyn Marsh (16-6) leads the Mustangs on the mound with a 1.73 ERA with 103 strikeouts and a batting average against of .250. The sophomore is also batting .286 with five doubles, two home runs, and 20 RBIs.
Freshman
Aliza Acker leads the Mustangs with a .366 batting average, 52 hits, and 12 doubles, and four home runs. Acker is second in RBIs with 21 and third in runs scored with 24.
Senior
Riley Kramolisch is second on the team with 46 hits, a batting average of .319 and two triples. She is one of two players with 26 runs scored. Kramolisch became the eighth Mustang in team history to record 200 hits in a career in late March.
Junior outfielder
Paris Van Dyke after a strong 10-game stretch in late March-early April is now batting .303 on the year. Van Dyke is second in doubles with seven and tied for third in hits with 33.
Grace Anderson is hitting .303 with four doubles and two home runs. Anderson is tied for fourth on the team with 16 RBIs.
Junior
Emma Humpal leads the Mustangs with 24 RBIs, is second in walks with 16, and tied for third on the team with 33 hits. Humpal was selected as NSIC Player of the Week in mid-February.
Freshman
Ramsey Hopp (8-13) has a 4.78 ERA in 121 2/3 innings. In 58 at-bats at the plate, Hopp has a batting average of .324 and 16 RBIs.

HEAD COACH BAILEY BOUMAN
Bailey Bouman is in her seventh season as head coach at SMSU with an overall record of 165-194, including 85-105 in NSIC play.
The 11th head coach in program history, Bouman was named to the position on Aug. 8, 2018.
The Mustangs finished the 2025 campaign with a 29-26 record, the second winning record for Bouman as head coach, with a 11-17 NSIC record and a ninth-place finish in the conference.
SMSU finished with a 19-32 overall mark in 2024.
Abby Boxrud and
Paris Van Dyke became the first Mustangs to earn All-NSIC Defensive honors in the Bouman era.
The Mustangs finished the 2023 season 17-32 and missed the NSIC Tournament for the first time in three seasons.
SMSU finished 21-31 in 2022 and won its second NSIC Tournament game in consecutive seasons.
The Mustangs finished 27-20 in 2021, their best season since 2011, while winning their first NSIC tournament game since Bouman's first season in 2019.
SMSU finished 19-26 during her first season in 2019 and qualified for the NSIC Tournament.
Bouman was an assistant coach with the SMSU women's basketball program from 2015-17 and was also an assistant women's basketball coach at Dordt College (Iowa) before returning to SMSU.
Bouman is a 2014 graduate of the University of Sioux Falls where she played both basketball and softball for the Cougars.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE VIKINGS
The Mustangs will meet Augustana for the 89
th and 90
th time on Thursday in a series dating back to 1974. The Vikings lead the series 73-15.
SMSU last beat Augustana in 2023 in Sioux Falls 2-1. The previous win for the Mustangs was in 2015.
Bailey Bouman has a 1-13 record against Augustana as head coach at SMSU.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE WILDCATS
SMSU faces Concordia-St. Paul for the 71

nd time on Sunday. SMSU holds a 38-32 advantage all time against the Wildcats.
The series is split 5-5 in the last 10 meetings between the two, and all time are 22-9 in games in Marshall, with SMSU winning the last nine games played at Mustang Field.
Coach Bouman holds an 8-5 record against the Wildcats.
