Women's Track & Field

Track & field ready for NSIC Championships

MARSHALL, Minn. -- The Southwest Minnesota State University women's and men's track & field teams will compete at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday in Duluth, Minn.
 
The championship is hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth and will take place at Malosky Stadium on the UMD campus. The men's championship features 12 teams, while the women's championship has 15 teams. Action begins at 1 p.m. on Thursday, while competition on Friday and Saturday starts at 10 a.m.
 
SMSU will have one athlete, Jack Clark, competing on Thursday and Friday in the decathlon. The remainder of the Mustang athletes will compete on Friday and Saturday.
 
At last season's championship, the men's team earned 13 points and finished 11th overall, while the women's team closed with six points to finish 13th.
 
All-conference performers shall consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top two relay teams from the conference meet.
