ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn a 6-5 victory over Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday night at the Husky Dome Invite in St. Cloud.
SMSU with the loss drops to 4-6 overall on the season.
St. Cloud State built a 4-1 lead after five innings before Southwest Minnesota State rallied to take the lead with a four-run sixth inning. Freshman
Christine Borowiak belted a three-run home run to tie the game for SMSU and then later in the inning the Mustangs took the lead as Britnay Hallahan delivered a pinch-hit RBI double to give SMSU a 5-4 lead.
The lead wouldn't hold though as SCSU scored two runs off of SMSU starter
Amanda Johnson in the bottom of the sixth to rally for the win.
Borowiak and
Amanda Tucci paced the Mustang offense with two hits apiece.
