NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's cross country teams returned to action today competing at the St. Olaf College Invite.
The SMSU women's team placed 15th out of 20 teams with 393 points, while the men's team finished 14th out of 20 teams with 390 points.
Minnesota Duluth won the women's team title with 50 points, while St. Olaf won the men's title with 59 points.
Hannah Palmeter led the Mustang women's team with a fourth place finish recording a time of 22:15.
Amanda Grengs placed 89th with a time of 26:11, while
Kristen Weber was 90th with a time of 26:12.
McKenzie Besel finished 100th with a time of 26:43, while
Jen Keohen crossed the line in 110th place at 27:35.
Evan Bonneson finished 44th to pace the SMSU men's team with a time of 27:00. Teammate
Ben Broze placed 78th with a time of 28:02, followed by
Chandler Lokanin in 81st place with a time of 28:08.
Kelly Fitzsimmons crossed the line at 28:23 to finish in 88th, while
Alex Solheim recorded a time of 28:58 to finish 99th.
Both SMSU teams return to action next Saturday, Sept. 26, competing at the Roy Griak Invite hosted by the University of Minnesota.
