Women's Results SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Southwest Minnesota State University men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2015 season tonight at the Augustana Twilight at Yankton Trails Park.
On the men's side, SMSU finished 17th of 20 teams, recording 420 points.
Evan Bonneson led the Mustangs in the four-mile race with a time of 21:00 to finish 70th, while teammates
Ben Broze recorded a 102nd place finish and
Kelly Fitzsimmons placed 109th with times of 21:29 and 21:40, respectfully.
The University of Sioux Falls took first in the college results with 56 total, followed by Augustana with 74.
On the women's side, SMSU placed 12th out of 20 teams, finishing with 379 points. Augustana earned the team title with 46 points.
Hannah Palmeter led the way for the Mustangs with a 6th place finish, crossing the finish line with a time of 17:11 in the three-mile race.
Savannah Ramirez finished with the second fastest time for SMSU finishing in 90th place with a time of 19:35.
Both SMSU squads return to action at the St. Olaf Invite on Sept. 19 in Northfield, Minn.
