MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team will open the 2016 season this Sunday with a conference match versus Minnesota State starting at 1 p.m. at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, Minn.
Sunday's match is the first of 11 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches this season.
The Mustangs are coming off a 2015 campaign in which they finished 5-13 overall, including 1-10 in the NSIC.
Second-year head coach
Adam Henning has 10 players on the 2016 roster with five returning letterwinners.
Sophomore
Ashley Hoehne led SMSU with a 12-6 record in 2015, playing mostly at No. 5 singles. Senior
Crystal Overbaugh recorded five wins at No. 2 singles, while sophomore Gabby Telljohn earned four victories at No. 1 singles.
Telljohn also racked up eight wins in doubles play, while Hoehne added seven victories.
