SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Carlo Arreola was the lone SMSU wrestler to place at the NCAA Super Region V tournament, earning a sixth-place finish at 125 pounds with a 3-2 record. It is the second consecutive time that Arreola has placed at the regional.

The team ended the tournament in 11th place, scoring 15.5 points, and 3rd place in seed differential with the Mustang wrestlers outperforming their seeding. 

"Loved the fight from our young team. The guys came into the toughest regional tournament in the country and battled with heart," said SMSU head coach Chayse Jackson. "Up and down the lineup there were good things and many things that we can work on in the off-season to change our trajectory for next year. Only way to go is up!"
