MANKATO, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's track & field had its final meet prior to the NSIC Championships on Friday competing at the Maverick Open #2 hosted by Minnesota State University.
For the Mustang men's team,
Deekon Anvid finished second in the men's discus (championship) with a mark of 51.76m.
Jack Clark earned a second place finish in the javelin with a distance of 44.21m.
Peda Zeba placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.42m.
Jacob Kunkel cleared 1.91m in the high jump to finish third.
Tyler Smith picked up a fourth place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 10.85.
Nadia Sanford placed ninth in the women's discus (championship) with a toss of 40.45m. She also competed in the hammer throw and placed sixth at 48.88m.
Jada Backes ran a time of 1:06.46 in the 400-meter hurdles to earn fourth place.
Macie Langstraat finished fourth in the 800 meters crossing the line at 2:20.57.
Next up for the Mustangs will be the NSIC Championships on May 8-10 in Duluth, Minn.
