Sean Howk,
Elijah Sterner and
Adam Sylvester, were named to the 2025 College Sport Communicators Academic At-Large All-District® team announced on Tuesday.
The Academic All-District® At-Large teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Howk, a senior from New Ulm, Minn., earns CSC Academic All-District honors for the third straight season. He earned his bachelor's degree in physical education/health/management and is pursuing his master's at SMSU. He closed the season racking up 18 victories.
Sterner, a senior from Cottonwood, Minn., earns the award for the first time in his career. He received his bachelor's degree in justice administration and is completely his master's degree at SMSU. He won seven matches during the 2024-25 season.
Sylvester, a senior from Minneapolis, earns CSC Academic All-District accolades for the first time in his career. A finance major, he finished this past season earning 14 victories.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, nominees must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, complete one full calendar year at their current institution and be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must also be in the line-up for at least 70 percent of team scoring events or compete at a conference or regional championship meet.
