MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team will host the 27
th annual EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invitational this Saturday and Sunday at the 5,877-yard, par 72 Marshall Golf Club. The 36-hole invite begins on Saturday with tee times starting on both hole 1 and 10 at 9 a.m. The final round will begin with a shotgun start on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
A total of 78 individuals are expected to compete from teams including Southwest Minnesota State, Augustana, Bemidji State, Briar Cliff, Chadron State, Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), Gustavus, Minnesota State, MSU Moorhead, Minnesota Crookston, Morningside, and Sioux Falls.
SMSU will tee off on Saturday starting on hole 1 at 9:56 a.m.
Augustana has won the past five team titles following last season's score of 592 (+16), which was second best in tournament history. Masy Mock from Augustana captured the individual title last season with 2-under-par 142.
SMSU, which finished eighth out of 11 teams last season, has won the team title twice (2000 & 2005) in tournament history.
This weekend will be the fourth competition for SMSU this fall. The Mustangs last competed on Sept. 15-16 at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl in Hudson, Wis., placing sixth out of 14 teams.

Isabella Jacobs leads the team through six rounds with a 78 average with freshman
Carly Hamman ranking second at 84.2, while senior
Berkley Steffen is third at 85.7.
Following this weekend, SMSU will conclude its fall schedule at the University of Sioux Falls Invite on Oct. 13-14 at Grand Falls Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa.
