MINNEAPOLIS – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's indoor track & field teams completed the two-day Jack Johnson Invitational on Saturday hosted by the University of Minnesota.
SMSU's women's 4x400 relay team of
Ellen Padmore,
Hannah Palmeter,
Eisha Oden and
Nikki Atwood, broke the school record with a time of 4:03.43 to win its heat and finish in 14th place overall on Saturday.
Hannah Palmeter earned a third place finish in the section 2 division of the 1-mile race, with a time of 5:08.77.
Kim Shabino finished 14
th in the 60m (7.99), while
Ellen Padmore recorded a 24
th place finish (8.18). Padmore also finished ninth in the section 3 division of the 400m with a time of 59.75.
Rylee Armstrong also competed on Saturday and recorded a mark of 1.52m in the long jump to place 12
th.
Also on Saturday for the SMSU men's team,
Chris Kveseth finished seventh in the 800m a time of 1:57.59, while
Jordan Flinn placed 11
th in the weight throw at 16.05m.
The SMSU men's 4x400 relay team crossed the finish line in 11
th place with a time of 3.26:32.
SMSU had four individuals compete on Friday with
Alex Weis leading the way, capturing first place in the shot put open division with a toss of 15.37m.
Dallin Finley also competed for the men's team and finished 15
th out of 32 in the 200m with a time of 22.99.
Raphael Lawson-Gayle rounded out the men on Friday with a seventh place mark in the long jump at 6.75m.
Shabino ran in the 200m for the women's team and placed 15
th out of 37 crossing the line at 25.93.
