MANKATO, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's track & field teams recorded five first-place finishes competing at the Minnesota State Pfingsten Open on Wednesday held at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
For the men's team,
Greg Schafer earned first in the 100 meters with a time of 10.94 with teammate
Brad Tang in second place with a personal best 10.95.
Roel Palomo captured a winning time in the 800 meters at 1:58.28, while
Elliott Hoffman finished in third place at 1:59.69.
Logan Roelofs recorded a personal best time of 10:10.89 to win the 3,000m steeplechase.
Gavin O'Connell also had a personal best time of 16:12.29 to win the 5,000 meters.
Tucker Amberg won the triple jump with at 12.91m with
Mak Lia placing second at 12.57m.
Ian Kalin ran a personal best 1:01.68 in the 400-meter hurdles to finish in second.
BT Teboh earned third place in the long jump with a mark of 6.84m.
Jacob Kunkel placed third in the high jump at 1.99m.
Chaden Carroll cleared 4.19m in the pole vault to place fourth.
On the women's side,
Christine Sleeter and
Elizabeth Heinen finished second and third respectively with marks of 1.59m and 1.54m.
Tavashia Hill ran a personal best 12.55 to finish in fourth-place in the 100 meters.
Emily Lorentz had a personal best toss of 43.52m in the hammer throw to finish ninth overall.
Kyra Kusnierek ran 2:26.22 in the 800 meters to finish in seventh place, while
Marissa Pabst closed in eighth place at 2:27.81.
SMSU will have its final regular season meet on Saturday once again heading to Mankato for the Minnesota State Marshall Open.
