MARSHALL Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State E-Sports Super Smash Bros Ultimate team matched up Friday night against Milwaukee School of Engineering, falling 2-0 in their third week of competition.
SMSU started the first match with
Kyle Cox opening in round one getting one death and MSOE getting three deaths. In round two SMSU found traction with
Salvador Cid taking the remaining two deaths from MSOE. After that MSOE took the remaining two deaths from Cid, SMSU didn't take any deaths from MSOE until the final round with
Brandon Lyons taking two lives, however, Lyons couldn't finish MSOE's remaining team members. Having SMSU fall 1-0 to MSOE in the first match.
The second match began with Lyons leading for SMSU, caring his success over from the last match Lyons was able to take out an entire player from MSOE along with taking another life from their second player. Cox followed Lyons and kept pace with MSOE both taking two deaths and equalizing leaving it up to Bailey and Cid to finish the match, but both were dominated by MSOE. Both combined for one death causing SMSU to fall in the second match against MSOE giving them the victory on the night going up 2-0.
The SMSU E-Sports Team will be back to work Tuesday, Oct. 20
th, with the Rocket League Team taking on Shenandoah University at 7 p.m. and University of Southern Mississippi at 8:15 p.m.
The Super Smash Bros Ultimate Team will be back next week Friday at 7 p.m. to take on University of Jamestown in their final week of competition.
