MANKATO, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's track & field teams concluded the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday with one individual earning All-NSIC and two others earning top four finishes.
For the Mustang men's team,
Renald Pierre earned All-NSIC honors in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.06 to finish in second place. His time currently ranks 14
th in Division II.
Isaiah Nelson set a school record in the triple jump with a distance of 14.41m to finish in fourth place overall.
Isatu Shirek competed in the finals of the women's 60-meter hurdles and placed fourth overall with a time of 8.71, which ranks 20th in Division II.
On Friday, SMSU's
Shealyn Tom earned placed eighth in the pole vault at 3.26m to earn the SMSU women's team .33 points. She was the first Mustang female athlete to earn points in the event at the conference meet.
Minnesota State won both the women's and men's team championships. The SMSU men's team finished with 13 points to earn an 11
th place, while the women's team recorded 5.33 points to place 14
th overall.
