VERMILLION, S.D. -- The Southwest Minnesota State University indoor track & field teams competed on Saturday at the University of South Dakota Alumni Meet with several place winners.

Isatu Shirek had the third fastest time in the prelims of the 60m hurdles before placing fifth overall with a time of 8.98.

SMSU's 4x400 relay tema of Sierra Clifford, Leah Tietjens, Brycelyn Hanson and Shirek ran 4:10.31 to place second out of eight teams.

Hanson also ran the 600 meters at 1:43.32 to earn third place overall.

Taytum Klink advanced to the finals of the 60m dash and placed eighth at 8.29.

Zak Kubitz picked up a third place time in the 60m hurdles at 8.68, while Nathan Lear recorded a mark of 6.58m in the long jump to place ninth.

Isaiah Nelson had a solid day placing fourth in the triple jump at 13.88m.

Brendon Rasmussen earned seventh in the shot put at 14.07 with Carl Swedzinski placing 10th at 13.61m.

McKallen Smith with 1.90m in the high jump to finish tied for 11th.
