MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State Esports Rocket League team fell to 2-1 on the season with a tightly contested 1-3 (1-2 OT, 2-1 OT, 2-3, 1-2) series loss to Lubbock Christian University.
It was a defensive battle between the two teams, Gavin Rohner (R0hner) led SMSU with 11 saves, while Dillon Hall (Juicydill25) and Sean Sauve (KamiSean.) finished with 10 and 5 saves, respectively. Dillon and Sean each contributed 3 goals for the Mustangs.
SMSU's esports team will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 28, with a 6:00 Valorant matchup with Western Kentucky University and a 7:30 League of Legends matchup with Kansas State University. The Rocket League team will resume play at 5:00 against Concordia University (Neb.) on Friday, Sept. 30.
