Â
SMSU sophomore,
Carter Schwalbe, was named an 'Athlete to Watch' this season.
Â
"Carter led the Mustangs in 3 out of his 5 cross country races as a freshman," said seventh-year SMSU head coach,
Kirk Nauman. "With a good summer of training and another year of college racing, I think he has the opportunity to take the next step."
Â
SMSU opens practice on Aug. 25 and will have its first meet on Sept. 5 at the Augustana Twilight.
Â
The NSIC Championship will be held on Oct. 24 at the Wayne Country Club in Wayne, Neb.
