MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State cross country teams competed Friday night at the MSU Moorhead Dragon Twilight with both the women's and men's teams earning fifth-place finishes.
The University of North Dakota won both races with the women's team recording 15 points, while the men's team closed with 17 points.
The SMSU women's squad closed with 132 points, while the men's team finished with 137 points.
Macie Langstraat and
Madison Marco led the SMSU women's team finishing 26
th and 27
th overall in the 5k race with times of 19:46.
Kyra Kusnierek ran 20:17 to finish 33
rd, while
Catherine Ihrke closed in 38
th place at 20:47.
Carissa Andres earned a 54
th place time of 21:29,
Alicia Blesi finished 55
th at 21:33, while
Kaitlin Olson crossed the line at 21:43 to finish 57
th.
On the men's side,
Carter Schwalbe led SMSU placing 36
th in the 6k with a time of 19:46.
Seth Torgerson was right behind his teammate finishing 38
th at 19:50.
Roel Palomo finished 49
th at 20:31 with
Logan Roelofs running 20:57 to finish 54
th.
Elliott Hoffman and
Daniel Olson rounded out SMSU's team scoring finishing 65
th and 68
th respectively with times of 22:02 and 22:27.
SMSU resumes action on Sept. 28 at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic.
