MANKATO, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's and men's track & field teams concluded a solid two days at the Minnesota State Mark Schunk Open inside Meyers Field House on Saturday.
Individuals from both teams set school records while numerous personal bests were set during the two-day meet.
Peda Zeba set a school record in the men's triple jump placing third overall at 14.65m. The previous mark was 14.41m set by Isaiah Nelson in 2022.
Jacob Kunkel and
Ryan Kronbach both cleared 2.0m in the high jump to set a new school mark. Kunkel officially finished second overall with Kronbach closing in fourth place.
Michelle Marquard put her name atop the school record book in the pole vault clearing 3.61m to place sixth overall.
Bjorn Mattick finished fourth in the 500 meters with a time of 1:08.52.
SMSU will next be in action on Friday, Feb. 6, at the Wayne State Wildcat Invite.
