WAYNE, Neb. – Jacob Kunkel captured first place in the high jump to highlight the Southwest Minnesota State men's track & field team at the Wayne State Wildcat Invite held Friday at the WSC Dome.
Kunkel cleared 1.97m to win the event with teammate
Ryan Kronbach placing sixth at 1.92m.
Colton Johnson earned second place in the triple jump with distance of 13.87m with
Mak Lia closing in seventh at 12.30m. Johnson also finished sixth in the long jump at 6.62m.
Brad Tang ran 6.97 in the 60 meters to finish third.
Deekon Anvid had a strong day finishing fourth in the weight throw at 16.28m.
Roel Palomo finished fifth in the 1,000 meters crossing the line at 2:34.65.
Josh Coulby placed fourth in the shot put at 14.99m with
Ole Taylor right behind in fifth at 14.79m.
For the women's team,
Shealyn Tom finished second in the pole vault clearing 3.42m with
Victoria Robillard and
Michelle Marquard finishing third and fourth respectively at 3.27m.
Christine Sleeter finished fourth in the high jump at 1.57m.
Madison Marco ran 3:08.64 to place fifth in the 1,000 meters.
Emily Lorentz earned seventh place in the weight throw at 16.37m with
Seely Stockmoe placing ninth at 15.47m. Stockmoe would also finish seventh in the shot put at 12.32m with Lorentz coming in ninth at 12.15m.
SMSU returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the CSB/SJU Invitational in Collegeville, Minn.
