SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State indoor track & field had its final tune-up before the NSIC Championships today with several high place winners at the Stinger Open hosted by Black Hills State on Saturday.

Highlights of the day include
Rylee Armstrong completing the trifecta—winning the long jump, triple jump and high jump respectively. She recorded a mark of 5.09m in the long jump, 11.12m in the triple jump and 1.60m in the high jump.

Kayla Jansky also earned a big victory, winning the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.23.

Angela Prokosch also had a big day, crushing her own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 15.90m.

Samantha McNeel also notched a school record in the 60 meters, crossing the line in 9.83.

For the men's team,
Zach Jones won the long jump with a mark of 6.51m and won the triple jump finishing at 13.37m. Jones also finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.88.

Alex Weis closed the meet with a victory in the shot put with a mark of 16.05m.

Southwest Minnesota State will compete next Friday and Saturday at the NSIC Championships in Mankato, Minn.
