SMSU Athletics

The 1980-81 wheelchair basketball team won the NIWBT championship, the school's first national team championship, and SMSU's third straight Central Intercollegiate Conference title.

The 18-6 team featured Most Valuable Player Mark Mortenson, who averaged 17.4 points per game.  Mortenson was named MVP of the NIWBT.  David Knudtson joined Mortenson on the All-NIWBT first team, while Dan Ramier was named to the second team.  All three players were named All-CIC as well.
