SMSU Athletics Hall of Honor
Jim Louwagie (wrestling1978-80) spent two seasons at SMSU and was one of the best ever to wrestler for the Mustangs.
Louwagie was a two-time NAIA All-America, placing seventh at 150 pounds in 1979 and fourth at 177 pounds in 1980. He was a conference champion in 1980 and was also named the NIC's Most Valuable Wrestler in 1980. A two-time team MVP and two-time team captain, Louwagie finished his career with a record of 76-33 and holds school records for wins by pin, wins in dual meets and near falls.
