SMSU Athletics Hall of Honor
Leslie Jacobsen (tennis, 1989-92) finished her career as one of the best tennis players in school history. She finished her career with a single record of 109-23, which set an SMSU and NSIC record. Along with her 90-24 record as a doubles player, Jacobsen finished her career with a school record .809 winning percentage.
She was a four-time conference and all-district selection and won four conference single and doubles championships from 1989-92. A nationally ranked player in both singles and doubles from 1990-92, she earned All-America honors in 1990.
A standout off the court as well, Jacbosen was an Academic All-Amereica in 1992 and an NAIA Schola-Athlete in 1992 and 1992. She also earned the Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award from the NAIA in 1992.
Jacobsen was also named one of SMSU''s Top 30 Female Athletes from 1970 to 2000.
Jacobsen was inducted into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Hall of Fame in 2005.
