SMSU Athletics

Bob and Sandy Fenske (community members) are long-time supporters of SMSU and Mustang Athletics.

Bob and Sandy were high school sweethearts from Bemidji, Minn., and were married in 1957. They eventually moved to Marshall in 1963 where Bob was a teacher and coach at Marshall High School for 12 years.

The Fenske family has witnessed the beginning and the continued growth of the University and attended the first-ever SMSU basketball and football games played in Marshall.

Bob and Sandy are long-time members of the SMSU Mustang Booster Club and can be seen at countless Mustang Booster Club meetings and socials along with Mustang athletics events both home and away.

Following teaching and coaching, Bob worked in private business for over 30 years and also served as a commissioner for Lyon County. Sandy was a stay-at-home mother for numerous years, before working in child care for nearly 15 years and also working as a tour scout for Ram Tours.

Bob and Sandy have three adult children, along with 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
