Devin Diedrich (2008-12) was a five-year member of the volleyball team and is one of the most decorated players in the program’s renowned history.

A native of Braham, Minn., Diedrich burst on the scene as a true freshman in 2008, earning NSIC Newcomer of the Year, AVCA Central Region Freshman of the Year and AVCA All-American honorable mention honors. She finished third on the Mustangs in kills (355) and was second in blocks (96) in helping the team win 28 matches and advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

In 2009, Diedrich was named All-NSIC first team and AVCA All-American third team, leading SMSU to 25 victories and advance to the NCAA tournament. She led the Mustangs with a team-high 481 kills and a team-leading 91 blocks, while leading the NSIC in kils per set (4.18).

Diedrich had a monster season in 2010, earning multiple postseason accolades, including earning NSIC Offensive Player of the Year honors. Diedrich smacked a team-high 503 kills, while once again leading the team with 104 blocks. She was named AVCA All-American first team and CCA All-American second team and was named AVCA Division II National Player of the Week on Oct. 26.

After missing the 2011 season with an injury, Diedrich returned for a fifth season in 2012 and helped the Mustangs to a Division II school record 30 victories, an NCAA tournament appearance, along with the program’s first NSIC regular season title in 11 years and its first-ever NSIC tournament championship. She was named All-NSIC first team for the third time in her career, racking up 313 kills and a team-high 115 blocks.

Diedrich closed her career ranking second in school history in points (1,982.5), third in kills (1,652), fourth in attacks (3,887), fourth in hitting pct. (.314) and fifth in blocks (406).
