SMSU Athletics Hall of Honor
Mark Lickfelt (1995-98) was a four-year letter winner for the SMSU baseball program and put together one of the most productive careers offensively and defensively in team history.
A native of Hutchinson, Minn., Lickfelt played in every game his last three seasons, earning first team All-NSIC accolades each year (1996, 1997, 1998). During those last three seasons, he combined to bat .393 with 20 home runs and 35 stolen bases.
A member of SMSU’s 1996 NSIC championship and 1997 NSIC tournament championship squads, Lickfelt helped the Mustangs to back-to-back 31 and 33 wins seasons his final two years. He led SMSU with a .391 batting average with a-then school single-season record 66 base hits during his senior season in 1998.
Lickfelt closed career as the program’s all-time leader in base hits with 205 and also ranked first in triples (12), assists (418) and total bases (324), while ranking second in runs scored (155). He finished with a career .371 batting average with 29 doubles, 22 home runs, 12 triples, 132 RBIs and 52 stolen bases.
Mark, and his wife, Shelly, live in Farmington, Minn., with their two children. Mark is an mortgage underwriter for New American Funding.
