SMSU Athletics

Don Palm (men's swimming and diving) spent nine seasons as head coach of the men's swimming & diving program starting the program from scratch.  His teams posted a 97-44 dual-meet record and won five consecutive conference titles, starting in 1973.

SMSU hosted the NAIA Championships in 1972, 1975, 1976 and 1977, finishing sixth in 1976.  His teams also placed eight in both 1977 and 1979.

Palm also served as assistant football coach from 1972 to 1978.

Palm was inducted into the Northern Intercollegiate Conference Hall of Fame in 1986.
