SMSU Athletics Hall of Honor
Erin Dickhausen (2005-08) was a four-year letter winner for the softball program and closed her career as one of the most dominate hitters in team history, while helping lead the program to three conference championships.
Dickhausen, a native of Winsted, Minn., stormed on the scene during her freshman season in 2005, leading the Mustangs in batting average (.326), hits (43), triples (6), home runs (4) and RBIs (28), while earning All-NSIC honors.
Dickhausen’s final three seasons saw the Mustangs combine for 118 victories, three NSIC championships and three appearances in the NCAA Tournament. As a sophomore in 2006, SMSU won a school record 41 games, finished 14-0 in the NSIC and also won the NSIC Tournament. She led the team with a .391 batting average with a team-high 10 home runs and team-leading six triples in earning All-NSIC for the second straight season.
In 2007, Dickhausen hit a-then school record 10 home runs with a team-high 40 RBIs and a team-leading 103 total bases in earning NSIC Player of the Year honors. SMSU won the NSIC regular season championship and placed third at the NCAA Region Tournament.
In her senior season in 2008, Dickhausen once again earned NSIC Player of the Year honors as she closed the season batting .351 with a team-high 60 hits and team-high 14 stolen bases. SMSU would win its third straight NSIC championship and once again advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Dickahausen finished her career being named all-region three times (2006, 2007, 2008), twice was named NSIC Player of the Year (2007, 2008) and was a four-time first team All-NSIC (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008). She finished career ranking first in school history in base hits (223), runs scored (157), triples (22), total bases (376), RBIs (127), home runs (26) and stolen bases (72), while batting .355 in 198 games.
